4health Beef & Chicken Dog Food, 13.2 oz. Can - For Life Out Here
My dog's currently eat Beneful. I know it sucks, but I am not in a position to pay for the dogs food right now, so my parents are the ones buying it. My mom is now willing to switch over, and I am thinking 4health might be the best choice, as I can get it at Tractor/Supply for a fairly good price. Right now, my dogs coats aren't all that wonderful. I just shaved my Miniature Poodle and was disgusted with how flaky, and dry her coat was, not to mention the amount of dandruff and oily feeling skin. Poor coat health isn't the only problem my dogs have on this food; Mopsy has recurring ear infections and itchy feet, their poop isn't all that great either, and they are gassy. I am SO ready to switch. I was originally going to go with Diamond Naturals, but I am thinking that 4health is the better option. I just don't know what food to go with, as 4health has so many options. All of my dogs range from 4-10yrs old, and aren't used for any type of sport, so I would assume I should feed them adult food, but I am unsure what Mopsy is allergic to, so I don't know if I should get grain free or first try one of their normal foods? We have two Havanese littermate pups. They are 6 years old and have eaten 4Health Dog food for four years. Last week, we replenished our supply of can food which we mix with 4Health dry food. Our female pup had a seizure the next day (Thursday) after eating from the new supply. We took her to the vet for blood work to find she had liver issues. At first we thought it was potentially a congenital shunt (potentially still a contributing factor). The vet put her on KD prescription food at that time. We did not notice another seizure until Saturday afternoon and then two additional seizures on Sunday. Our male dog continued to eat the 4Health food as normal until he had a seizure on Monday and we knew it was an environmental issue. We took him to the vet to find his bloodwork showed liver issues as well.If it were me, I would go with the 4health and just soak it in water for the toothless dog. I've known plenty of dogs without teeth who had no problem eating kibble even unsoftened, but if you think the dog prefers wet food, you can just add warm water to the kibble.4Health products are sold exclusively at Tractor Supply Company stores – you can also purchase them online from the Tractor Supply website. Tractor Supply Company occasionally offers coupons on the company website and you also be able to find 4Health dog food coupons in the store’s weekly ad.
