Topic: Diamond and Taste of the Wild Recall - Dog Food Advisor
Taste of the Wild canned dog food receives the Advisor’s top rating of 5 stars.
This is a site for advice in dog food. Which people willingly come to for advice. Do people have the right to know in their quest for dog food knowledge about Diamond? Absolutely. I’m sorry that our ideals don’t line up, and you clearly aren’t interested in discussing it. Of note-even on the taste of the wild website, it links to diamond manufacturing, not it’s own. It even states it’s made in Missouri and South Carolina, two Diamond plants that have had many issues.
I just received a reply to my comment about the Science Diet recall and saw your post about Orijen and how expensive it is — so I thought I’d tell you about Taste of the Wild. You might already know about it. It’s all USA, well rated on Dog Food Advisor (4 and 5 stars depending on which formula) about half the price of Orijen and I’ve been adding it to the Orijen so my dog would get used to it in case of “hard times.”

Is it safe to feed a puppy an all stage dog food? Or is it better to feed a puppy an actual puppy food until age one? We are getting a new 9 week old Cockapoo puppy and the only 5 star puppy formula is Orijen. I wanted to use Taste of the Wild, but was advised to get an actual puppy food. Please help and advise. Thank You.My dog was on Purina pro plan when we got him from the breeder and then we switched him to grain free Taste of the Wild. My vet also recently told me that my dog has crystals in his urine. My vet recommended that my dog drinks plenty of water and he also recommended crananidin cranberry extract supplement for urinary health for dogs to lower his pH and help with the crystals. He advised a urine recheck in one month to see how he was doing. I bought Crananidin on Amazon and he has only been on it for a few days but I was never told by my vet to change my goldendoodle’s food. I hope this helps.Sounds like your vet gave you good advise. Adding some canned food to the diet would also be very beneficial because it also adds more moisture to the meals. Plus Canned food is less processed than kibble and is healthier for your dog. I think Taste of the Wild is a fine food for your dogs. It is best for their tummies to rotate their food anyway. Hope this helps! 5 STAR RATING for Rachael Ray Nutrish JUST SIX from my SIX terriers!! What a relieve I finally found a brand they can eat without issues!! It is so good to see them feeling so much better! I have fed them some of the top rated brands including Merrick, Dr. Fosters, 4 Health, Kirkland, Taste of the Wild, Purina Pro Plan just to name a few. I thought because they all had a 4 or 5 star rating that they would be a good choice for my dogs. With each new brand I tried, 2 of my female terriers were itchy and scratched constantly and chewed and licked their feet obsessively, one would pull her hair out on her back while the others skin turned bright red. Another one of my dogs had constant yeast issues on his face and chin. With countless trips to the Vet, prescribed creams, shampoos, ointments and shots only treated the symptoms with temporary relief.I was so frustrated, I thought I had nothing to loose to try a brand with limited ingredients that did not include peas, flaxseed, potatoes, sweet potatoes and countless other ingredients that may or may not agree with them or that are really necessary. It took them a day or two to adjust to the change, but immediately, I noticed all of their symptoms improved. I am so happy that I gave this brand a try despite all of the negative reviews about this brand. I did notice that I only read negative reviews about Just 6 on dogfoodadvisor in this thread. All other sites related to this brand have great reviews about it. I am not sure why that is. Sorry for the long review, but if you are as frustrated as I was and searching for a food to try that your loved one can eat without issues, I would give this one a try. 5 stars and much relief at our house!
