Apr 14, 2009 - Okay, why isn't there an indestructible soccer ball yet ? hmmm…it is 2009 and I still can't find a ball that my dogs can't kill in 10 minutes!
Take a large ball, basketball, soccer ball or even an indestructible ball can be used. I like indestructible balls because they can’t be easily picked up so they are more of a challenge, but they are tough as they bang on your dog’s legs! So if you have an older dog, I recommend something softer!
Let me tell you a little bit about the One World Futbol. It’s a soccer ball (as we call it here in the US), but it can be used for many types of games. But wait, this is not your ordinary soccer ball because it never goes flat and never needs a pump, even when punctured. The self-inflating bladder built into the ball is designed for durability and practically indestructible play. The reason behind the design is something pretty special too. This ball was not designed for dogs, but designed for empowering youth and strengthening communities worldwide through play. The Buy One Give One program works like this, when you buy a One World Futbol, the project donates a second ball to an organization working with disadvantaged youth in various communities around the world, especially in areas affected by war, disasters, disease and poverty. The program’s founding sponsor is Chevrolet and through the Buy One Give One program, over one million balls have been donated and distributed throughout the world.
Rough & Rugged Soccer Ball – Indestructible Dog
Jolly Pets Soccer Ball | Durable Dog Toys
The Almost Indestructible Dog Ball: A large ball made of polyethylene material and designed for the Big Dogs. Guaranteed too not chip, break or pop and touted to stand up to the most vigorous chewing. One of the reasons this ball can stand up to vigorous chewing is because Kenai couldnt even get her teeth on it! This ball is big, and tough and fun. Instead of chewing she played various forms of dog soccer while trying to get her teeth around this toy. The ball would bump against Kenais legs. For yard play, I have an "IndestructiBall". Same idea, different company from the JollyBall brand listed above. No handle, hard plastic, LITERALLY indestructible...at least without a heavy duty saw or something similiar. I've had the same one for...at least 2 years, and all that's changed is that it gets some small scratches on the exterior. The big warning for these...they are VERY heavy and hard. #1: Don't make the mistake of trying to kick it like a soccer ball. Ouch. #2: You best watch any glass or breakables in the area. My poor sliding glass door lost the battle against the ball when Pith and/or Kodah put the Indestructiball through it last spring. They have the biggest version which is about the size of a basketball, maybe a little bigger. They do absolutely LOVE it though, as do many of the foster dogs. I'm considering getting a smaller one for them to play with too.
