Bert is just plain not an ordinary cat! He also steals our dog food if we aren’t guarding it. He just wants to eat all the time. Sophie my cat sis, on the other hand, is a typical cat and doesn’t eat much of anything, real picky. Even though Bert wants my Jones treats and they are safe for him, I am not willing to share because they are dog treats and they are mine. I share with Bailie and Katie and that is enough!
Managing Your Dog’s Behavior Apart from your treatment sessions, you need to manage your dog’s behavior carefully to avoid aggressive encounters. Do not allow others to go near your dog while he’s eating. If he guards food from children in the family, DO NOT attempt these exercises with any child under 18 years of age. Instead, seek help from a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist (CAAB or ACAAB), a board-certified veterinary behaviorist (Dip ACVB), or a Certified Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT) with education and experience treating aggression. Please see our article, , to locate one of these experts in your area.

Giving him something extra because the cat came near will help turn around Schooner's feelings toward the kitty. Kitty will soon equal treats! The quicker I can get this message across, the sooner Schooner will enjoy the cat coming closer. So SHOULD you give your cat dog treats? Or dog food? Our last cat occasionally nommed on the dog food, but only once in a while. I think it was just part of an ongoing feud between the cat and dogs. He just wanted to drive the dogs nuts, knowing he’d touched their food. And once in a while, a nibble or two, it’s no big deal. But a steady diet of dog food for your cat won’t give it the nutrients it needs, just like a steady diet of cat food won’t give the dog what it needs.Cute dogs Bella the foxie and Beau the kelpie are both enjoying their treats together while Felix the cat looks on. As soon as Beau turns away Bella quickly steals his treat! Beau doesn't look to worried and Felix just ignores the whole thing! Very cute and funny!Donnell says: My cat, Stewie, will not eat anything but cat food. I've tried to treat him to fish, both canned tuna and fresh caught, and other things like chicken and meat. He turns his nose up at it all. The only thing he goes crazy over is pet grass, although he doesn't even bother with cat nip. He goes crazy over any kind of canned cat food, and sometimes he tries to eat the canned dog food too.
