This is a small and growing breed-specific rescue based in Kansas City, MO. They save dogs throughout the Midwest and have volunteers in MO, KS and NE. Their focus is German Shepherd Dogs. Thye also help other breeds and GSD mixes as much as possible. They use foster homes to save dogs and do NOT have a shelter or physical facility. They’re moving fast – they’ve saved over 700 dogs in 5 years.

The Rescue Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to building trustful relationships with people and their pets and improving the lives of animals living in under served Kansas City communities. We provide basic survival items such as food, water, flea/tick prevention and dog houses for needy animals. We offer low cost veterinary resources and emphasize the need to spay and neuter. We also provide community education/awareness to the public on responsible pet ownership and empower people to make a difference.Autumn Acres is a small no kill animal rescue located an hour north of Kansas City. Autumn Acres became a 501c3 organization in 2004 and we have been saving dogs ever since. In 2011 we were able to get a small kennel building built. The building houses 10-14 dogs and has air conditioning and heating available. We have a few foster parents in the Kansas City area and we are always looking for more!We are very proud of our contributions and involvement with dog adoptions here in Kansas City. Through Great Plains SPCA, KC Pet Project, Unleashed Pet Rescue, and Wayside Waifs, we regularly foster dogs available for adoption at all three of our locations.
