My 2 dogs Spike and Snoopy were the catalyst for Growl Towels, which evolved in January 2015
Have been using the mat and shammy in the mountains of Colorado. The door mat is great, and has made a huge difference in keeping dirt from tracking in to the house -- from humans and canines alike! The shammy I have found to be on the small size -- and I have a small dog. I don't think it would work as well for larger dogs -- at least the way I tend to use materials when drying off dogs. It works great with the snow, and helping to remove the "snowballs" that form on my dog's fur -- but I found it a bit less absorbent than expecting when I gave him a bath, and found I had to use both a regular towel and the shammy to get him completely dry.
So 5 stars for the doormat and 3 stars for the shammy -- which would get a higher rating if it were bigger! So I hope the product is made in a larger size soon!
Samantha has two large dogs, and it's not difficult to picture the amount of water that comes off of them after a full on bathing session. If you watch the video or read the full , you can see that she used to have to use one bath towel per dog to dry them off completely. Even though the towel is big and works well, for the same price you could get the best dog towel mentioned above, which is far more effective.

Give your dog a thorough pre-bath brush. Before heading to the dog wash, make sure your pup is totally brushed out and mat-free. Washing matted fur is counterproductive. Among other things, it’s almost impossible to dry it completely, which sets the stage for skin infections caused by bacteria and mold. Brush from your dog’s rear legs up, against the grain (the direction the hair grows) toward the body to the head. If you have a Pit Bull, this won’t take any time at all. If you have that Rough Collie (or Chow, Alaskan Malamute, Golden Retriever or Afghan) it will obviously take you longer, but you’ll save on tub time because it will be easier for the water to penetrate the coat. In any case, it makes sense to either brush out or cut off hair you don’t want to end up washing.Keep paper towels out of your dog’s access. If you have a large dog, this can mean putting towels on a high shelf or in a cabinet. Keep trash cans securely sealed and out of his reach. Consider keeping cans in another room with a closed door if your dog is an avid trash dumper. If your dog is munching on paper towels as a form of play, purchase some flavored chew toys, as this can help direct chewing behavior elsewhere.A common bad behavior in canines is eating objects such as paper towels. Dogs get into paper towels for many reasons; they are mainstays in the trash, might be easily accessible and they can provide entertainment. But eating paper products can carry serious health complications. If you are like me, bathing your dog is a bit of a pain. Our Lab mix Parker (star of The Dog Outdoors) loves getting dirty, but hates getting baths. After getting one he takes off like a raging bull and runs all through the house or around the yard outside - rolling in the grass and dirt. Catching him with a normal towel can be a losing battle or a battle none the less. I have tried regular towels, special microfiber dog drying towels, rolled microfiber noodle towels, etc... Nothing works as well as the SurfDog dog drying coat/robe. The reason is simple...I just pull it over Parker's head, tie around the waist, and pull his tail through the rear hole. The dog drying coat does the rest. No more shaking his wet dog self all over the house and flinging water and hair everywhere. No more rubbing and grinding salt water and beach sand into the seats of our vehicle. The microfiber towel material of the robe absorbs the water quickly and leaves us both happy. Plus, Parker looks really cool in his Surf Dog Australia dog robe. It works excellent at the beach and is admired by all the other doggies and owners that are using regular towels. Not only will they have to wrestle drying off their dog, but they will also have to clean their vehicle up after their dog gets it all wet and sandy. If you are looking for the best towels for dogs, dog bath towels, dog towel for the beach or lake, look no further. Surf Dog Australia has your dog covered - literally :)
