Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Urinary SO Moderate Calorie Morsels In Gravy Canned Dog Food
I was happy to see that a wet canned vet dog food was offered for the urinary condition that Lily has. I cannot feed her anything but the SO dry food and felt bad that our other dog, Tiffy, has the ability to try other types of wet food in her regular food, for a little extra and to cover her pills. When I found that our vet offered the canned food for Lily, I was very pleased, as I did not want to buy a full case. She loves it, gobbles it down with her regular dry Royal Canine SO formula food and has no problem with pills concealed in it. The only problem I see is that I wish it were offered in a smaller can, as she is a small breed dog, and it takes quite a while for her to finish the larger can. I had a chihuahua for three years and I fed him Royal Canin food since he was a puppy to adult. One day, I noticed he started developing issues with urinating and just feeling VERY sick. I took him to the vet, had some X-rays done and bad news came. My poor Bobby was diagnosed with very very large bladder stones and a severe urinary tract infection. My vet told me that this was 95% from food. Not even surgery would help and I was forced to put him down, there was no option. My dog never had any symptoms and this came as a shock. Yesterday, Tonka, my beagle/coonhound mix, was diagnosed with bladder stones. The vet wants us to feed him Royal Canin Urinary SO 14 dog food to dissolve the crystals that are causing this problem.ROYAL CANIN Veterinary Diet canine URINARY SO 13 (dry) is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for adult maintenance.Follow-up research of Royal Canin Urinary SO has found that severe, debilitating constipation, such as what affected our cat, is a common issue in both dogs and cats. Reading all the other consumer complaints, I find it irresponsible for any vet to recommend RC food. My vet has sent RC my complaint, my invoice and photos of the bag of food we still have (not using of course). The vet had been told by RC that there have not been any complaints to the company about this product. This was the first, and that my info has gone to their consumer relations department. To date I have not heard anything from RC directly. I would suggest everyone here who has had issue with RC contact them directly.
